windriver vs. burris

I am in the market for a spotting scope - I have narrowed the price down to the Wind river 15-45x60 and the Burris 20-60x80 Spotting Scope. Both have great optics - Wind river better optics. The...

RE: Shed Hunting

Elk aren't dropping their antlers for another few weeks, so I have no clue what people in Utah could be complaining about.

RE: Shed Hunting

Leave them alone how? By not feeding them? And why is this such a hot topic? It's not like we are jumping on them and sawing off the antlers - we are feeding them and hoping when they drop, they...

Shed Hunting

I remember an older post about shed hunting and different ideas about it.

Anyhow - a bud of mine out here in Utah has 300+ acres backed up to about 10,000 BLM acres and there are tons of elk...

RE: Pope and Young. . . should they count?

How would anyone know if you changed your setup or not? I don't remember a phone in the forest that was a hotline to P&Y, nor do I remember a P&Y checkstation. Obviously the hunter would know.

RE: Finally Decided on a bow

Updating you all. I decided to go with the Inferno cam - it's an oval cam and a much smoother draw. Also, the limb pockets with the inferno are metal, whereas the synergy are plastic - much more...

RE: Anybody from Idaho?

Hey buckshot, need anymore friends? I'd love to elk hunt in Idaho. I'm in Utah so it'd be a short drive for me

Finally Decided on a bow

Going with the PSE 'The beast" - but now they throw a curve ball at me - Inferno Cam or Synergy - ugh...what's the difference, besides the shape ;)

Thanks

Shot me a.........

40 today at the local golf course. Figured it'd be a good walk with my clubs to help me get in shape for the season.

Other than that - haven't shot anything since October <img...

RE: Are You a REAL Bowhunter or a TV Star??

I hate that moron with Jackie - he gives idiots a bad name, and that stupid stuffed toy.

My problem with those shows - they are 95-99% guided and on private property. Why not show a real hunt in...

Black Bear Hunting

What are some good tips and advice you can give me for a successful black bear hunt? It is either spring or fall with a rifle.

Thanks in advance.

Couple of Questions

1. I found a Browning Backdraft for $200 - new - needs limbs replaced and string since some bonehead dry fired it. Is this a good price and is this a good bow

2. What are the advantages and...

RE: Oh come on!

That was pretty funny. I was sitting on a stump when about 5 does walked by. I let a real loud fart and they jumped about 2 feet in the air, legs just a motoring, and they took off faster than I've...

Oval or Circular Cam?

I'm back - thanks for the space.

Alright - I'm looking at a bow and now a bud throws into the mix "go with oval"

What are your preferences and the pro's and con's about oval versus circular...

Good Yardage question

Excuse me again, but I am new to bowhunting so I will ask some obvious questions.

With a rifle, I'm comfortable at 300yds and in. With a bow - obviously much different.

What do you all...

RE: Is it me?????

I wish we could scout right now. The areas that we hunt have about 10-15 feet, minimum, of snow on them. We don't hunt out of stands, so we can't do that either. I don't start scouting until May -...

I have the itch bad to do some hunting - other than looking for the remote when the kids...

Ground Blind Recommendations

I'm in Utah and want to use a ground blind, but I don't know what to use and nobody I've hunted with has any recommendations.

Anyhow, I'm a big guy - 6'4, and want to use for either bow or rifle...
