RE: Gaining hunting access to private land.

I am a Hunter Safety Instructor.
Part of the Hunter Safety Course requires the student to ask permission from(me) the landowner in their field test. We emphasize to the students they should be...

RE: CWD in Wisconsin

The last thing I heard about those two test results in question was that the fellow who sold those test kits(and did the verifying) would not share samples with the DNR.
The test administered was...

RE: Doyle to raise Wi. Hunting / Fishing fees ?

I am pretty sure that by state statute the monies collected from license sales must be used for wildlife or conservation type projects. This is simply not because of the DNR' s approach to the CWD...

WI sportsmen. Time to act now!

If you have feelings one way or the other on whether or not the appointment of the DNR Secretary should continue to be in the hands of the Governor or wish it to be put back into the hands of the...

RE: Federal Ban on Bear Baiting

We've all gotta jump on our elected officials to make this one go away!
Everyone keep their eyes peeled for the name/number of this bill when introduced and let everyone else know.

RE: Wisconsin DNR and CWD

The 'moonsuits' referred to at the sampling stations, while not setting a very good precedent, were far from "Hazmat" standards. They were simply Tyvek coveralls. A bit extreme of a method to simply...

RE: CWD total to 40 deer, 2.57% Infection rate.

buckbuster,

The article you refer to was a biggest piece of speculation and garbage you will see in quite some time.
It was a reach in an attempt by the MJS to TRY to tie the NATURAL occurance of...

RE: WDNR tries to win over hunters in CWD fight.

The warehouse nub is talking about is one of 5 'processing centers" being set up around the state for sampling all the deer they intend to sample throughout the state this year.
Another one is in...

RE: YES!!!!!!!!!!!!

carpetguy.

I would suggest you get your hands on the CWD hunting regulations book. Read it two or three times, then call your local warden with questions.
It is not earn-a-buck in the entire...

RE: More CWD is found in WI

If others feel differently about my views on conservation so be it.
No, there is no guarantee the disease will be wiped out(it likely won't) but it sure as heck won't go away by itself!
If I find...

RE: More CWD is found in WI

If you disseminate all the crap from the media(mostly anti-hunting media) and look at the results of these "polls", it's no wonder the general public won't eat deer! They have passed on more drivel...

RE: What did the WDNR know and when?

One of the things regarding tis issue. yes, the DNR is kind of going into this without much knowledge. They are using all the things learned from other states. The biggest problem is that there have...

RE: What did the WDNR know and when?

TJD,

Since you are one who never gives the DNR credit for anything and will criticize anything they do, it is like arguing with an anti-hunter when discussing a topic with you. What ever I or...

RE: Is the Banned affecting your Big Game Hunt ?

carpetguy,

Where would you be able to get the testing done for about $20?
There has been a clamor here for independent testing labs but the USDA has control over these and they have refused to...

RE: What did the WDNR know and when?

TJD,

Perhaps they did suspect something in the Mt. Horeb area. Can you fault them for concentrating their testing there then? They got positive results. What more do you want?
If they were indeed...
