3Rivers has a test kit, different spine arrows and you can see how they fly out of your bow. I went to a trad bow shop and found that 65-70 & 70-75 Fly like darts out of my Shrew Long Bow 51# @ 26"...

I got my first traditional bow kill at 6:35am on Saturday, it was a DOE. I also saw a nice young 6 pointer, and about 6 DOE's & 4 Fawn's..... Might brave the heat on Monday......

All I can say is goto some archery shops & clubs and see if you can try someones bow, Try as many as you can...you could try ebay, but you should know something about a bow you may get from there....

AT 6:35am I got my first ever traditional bow kill. A DOE, 15 yards away, Shrew long bow 51#@26", Cedar arrows w/magnus II 125gr 2-blade total weight 550gr.

YES IT WOULD.. I use Magnus II 2-blade with my setup. 54# bow Easton 2018 w/125gr magnus 2-blade.

Arther is right. The rudder Algonkian bow is really nice, That is my next bow but with the art-snake skin on it. Later on you can really upgrade by get a custom bow.

45# @ 28" ... If you are pulling to 27" that would be 42#'s 26"= 39#'s and so on. You can also get a hand held scale and pull the bow and get the poundage, or Draw the bow and have a friend mark the...

try and fine a shop/store, Archery club where you might fine some one/place that has some long bows and try then out if you can. Also look for some events going on. A good used bow for a first time...

what kind? ( bear??? ) not knowing what make of bow and how old it is I would guess B-50 string and I would go with flu-flu arrows ( cedar, alum, carbon ) as long as they are matched to your bow....

Hunting NC

Anyone hunt near Angier, NC. I'm looking for public land to hunt on that has Deer, Hogs, and Bears any or all 3. I have Family and they don't hunt, but have deer in there yard and maybe a bear here...

Lighter...way lighter.. Traditional Bow's don't have any kinda letoff. A bow 40# @ 28" is 40#'s at fulldraw ( if your draw is 28") . Most will say 40#'s to start with
As you shoot you'll gain some...

OK here goes... I have a 54#@27" (draw length now for me) long bow going to be shooting cedar arrows 70# 75 # with 135gr heads ( 70-75 fly like darts don't ask... because I don't know why but they do...
