When I am not really familar with the area or I have to cross an obstacle like a river to get to a stand I use a light. I never tried a headlamp, but my mini-mag light works well.

I shoot a Parker Hunter Mag right now and I am really satisfied with it. I think that you should go for the Parker. Parker makes a better bow than Reflex. JMO

I would sit higher up than 10 feet, maybe 15 or higher at least, so you can move more and so the deer have a less chance of winding you. I agree with mnbowhunter and adams, hunt the wind.
