This bowhunting season has been a year of firsts for me

The new private land I picked up this year is really producing. I had already put an 8 pointer in the freezer on 09/27 and below is my story of my 10 point buck on 10/28. I still have two doe tags...

Back from Alaska, Fishing For Salmon

I used to live in Alaska and go back every few years and visit relatives, do outdoor activities, and fish for king and red salmon. This year there were 6 of us and we were there July 22 - August 4....

RE: [8|] Shooting from tree stands

I used to remember the formula but stopped using it once I realized that it didn't make that much of a difference in distance. Your distance of 12 yards out becomes like 14 yards when you are 18...

RE: Need some tips on getting a turkey with a bow

Agree with everything hunter9022 stated. I just don't attempt head shots. Blind is a must. Decoys 10-15 yards away max. Look for less than 25 yard shots and practice those sitting or on knees...

RE: try this interactive archery shot placement game

90 in the first round and 97 on the second. Do wish they would just give you more targets and the option to pass on the unethical/questionable shots.

Great site.

I've never heard of anyone having a heart attack when they see a deer. However I've heard of many heart attacks from hunters exerting too much (normally packing/dragging out a deer) while hunting. ...

I would allocate a few Saturdays this winter/spring to drive out in the country and knock on a few doors. Nebraska too has its share of gun hunters that are giving deer hunting a bad name.
