RE: turtle traps

I use a milk jug anchored to the bank. Get about a foot and a half leader on there and bait it with a cut up bluegill. I've tried chicken livers too but bluegill seem to work the best.

RE: moutain lion and cougar

I've seen a cougar here in southwestern Ohio. It was about 8 years ago or so. One of the neighbors found a scull in his back field the following spring. He took it to the park rangers office and they...

RE: Squirrel in the hood

Im living on campus at Miami University, and there are squirrels everywhere you look! I would love to take out my .22 or pellet gun and blast a few, but that might not go over so well. Maybe i...

Bigfoot??

I've been doing a lot of thinking lately. What would be the perfect animal to hunt? I have decided that this animal would have to be bigfoot. Think of the adrenaline rush you get when a huge buck...

RE: Trapping Racoons?!!?!?!

I wouldn't doubt that it is a coon setting that trap off every time. They're tricky little varmints. I've had a lot of luck with box traps baited with cat food. They have to get all of the way in...

RE: deer and treestands

Before this year, all that I've ever hunted out of were 10' ladder stands. I've never had a problem with deer spooking. If you're still enough they will walk right underneath you.

RE: Are whitetails wary of permanent stands?

Last summer I built a permanent stand. This sucker is huge. It is 12'x 9'. It even has a sun-roof. So far this year I've taken a big doe and a great twelve pointer out of it. There are always...

RE: Best place for a kill shot on a Deer?

Just don't shoot them in the ass with a bow. I'm still tracking a buck that I shot a couple of days ago. It was about a fifty yard shot with a crossbow. Now I wish that I had missed!

Crow Decoy Setup

I am just starting to get into crow hunting and was wondering what the best decoy setup was. I've heard of using an owl decoy but don't know exactly how I should set it up. Any tips?

Skinning Coyoties

I figure since I've been doing a lot of coyote hunting lately I should find out how to skin them properly, just in case I get one. Anybody have any tips?

Doin' Better

I called in my first coyoties the other day. They were too far off to get a shot off but its the first response I've had to my calling. I was sitting in a blind near a field and saw them come in down...

Eating Varmits

I've been wondering if anyone actually eats varmits such as racoons, possums, or coyoties. The next time I get something I'm gonna try to cook and eat it. I've actually found some recipes for coon...

RE: Wood Chucks...

I've hunted woodhucks many times out in fields from the back of a pickup. I've always used a .22 and never had any problems.

I'm pretty sure that its not rats because last summer we killed about 50 of them with a combination of very strong poison and cats. We haven't had any sign of them since but have kept poison out...

I have had a lot of trouble recently with something getting into my horse feed. Whatever it is is not just eating out of the open bags but is also tearing wholes in the unopened bags. I've set a...
