I do understand the worry of hitting shoulder though. I've lost more deer than I care to say in my first few years of bowhunting due to shoulder shots. I think the best shot placement is quartered...

I read an article a couple years ago from an outfitter in a midwest state. They encourage their clients to take gut shot....

Hmm. Something like this might come from a couple of things. First I would look at would be the spine. You might have too stiff of a spine and its not flexing enough as it hits the target.

We here at Deer Crossing Archery use Instabond 1500 industrial glue. It sets real fast, so better be ready when you put it on the vane. Toughest stuff we have ever used!
