Double Lung'd Doe...

Opener here in WV today. Tons of acorns, apples rotting on the ground. Had two does come in about 9 this morning. Took a small one, double lung, at about 16 yards. Ran 20 yards and piled up...I like...

Opinion On Weather/Temp Change...

Opener here in WV is Saturday. Friday looks to take a cold spell with temps dipping down to 30 Friday night....in contrast temps are in the low 60's now.

Daytime forecasted to be in the mid...

There is a paradox to arrow flight; Your buddy is correct about using the pin for your longer yardages at such close distances. If you do a search you may be able to find more information about it.

How Long Prior to Opener do You Set Stands?

I have been cleaning up some shooting lanes in areas that I use my climber and am setting out about 4 hang-on's this year as well.

When things start picking up...hunt the does...especially the fringe around these areas where bucks might cruise by...

I like to cut the backstraps into about 3/4" steaks (or you can leave it whole, then slice later either way) and either roll in crushed peppercorns or soak for just a bit in peppercorn/garlic...
