You should get out about a month prior to deer (archery or rifle) season and do some research. Look for rubs, deer trails, droppings, see a game trail, sit down for a hour or so see if anything...

I agree, the 130gr Hornady GMX stoked with 46.6gr IMR4064 is a lethal combo.
The ogive and sectional density of the 130gr bullet is a perfect marriage for the 270Win.

Harvested 5 bears out of 10yrs at my camp. 50% in a decade isn't a bad count. I have 40 acres up 66N past marienville. My Uncles camp is a few miles east of marienville. Good spot for bear.

I'm aware of the 3 caliber deal. But don't count out the 260 Rem.
Its a pleasure to shoot and its flat trajectory is a plus. It beats out the swede by +/- 100fps with a milder recoil. My Sako in 260...
