I was able to score a used Bloodwood over Walnut one sider by Jerry Zebro made in 2008. To say this call has some rasp would be a huge understatement. I absolutely love it! A very easy playing call.

I first learned on a box and never really got away from it. I have tried mouth calls but just can't get them to work for me. I'll use slate sometimes but 95% of the time I'll have a box in my hand....

I've had mine for a couple years and had no issue with it coming loose, and it shows no sign of coming loose either. It's pretty well sewn on 75% of the way around the hat.

Quaker Boy does make good box calls. The first box call I ever bought, and the one I still use is QB Grand Old Master. I love it! Many a turkey have been called in with it.

I think people put too much stock in how a call sounds. High pitched, raspy, etc. Every hunter has their own idea of how a call should sound, but I've been in the woods and heard a real hen yelp...
