I shoot 70lbs with Gold Tip XTHunter 5595. At 30" they are 409.5 grains. Shoots great and very durable. Haven't broken any yet, and I've got about 100 shots through each arrow.

You can use any bow that can be backed down to 25-60lbs. My bow is an old compound set at 50#. A lot of guys swear by recurves because of the lack of letoff and ease of snap shooting.
