The 06 is plenty of gun for any of the animals you mentioned. Out to 400 yds, it will hold its own with any of the other cartidges you listed.

No question, I wouldnt ever give up my 30-06 savage. the versality of this cartridge and the accuracy of the Savage are as a good as anything I've ever owned.

I personally would like to see you go with a 4 x40 scope, better by far than a 32 in low light conditions.
