I really like the Black Horn 209. You don't need to swab between shots.
I use Hopes 9 for cleaning when shooting Black...

Make sure that the CCI primers that you are using...

Make sure that the CCI primers that you are using are the CCI 209M. The "M" on the end of 209 is the indicator. Federal 209 A or the Winchester "Blue Box" 209 are also recomended for Black Horn 209...

I have no expirence with a TC Encore. I bought a new CVA Apex .45cal this year and used it in Kansas on a doe and a six point buck. The trigger on the Apex is ajustable and really smooth and crisp....

Friend has a Traditions Lightning bolt action inline. He has been told that he can't shoot Black Horn 209 powder in this gun, but has not been told why. His breech plug has a slotted primer holder....
