I see he runs every week until December. Like 10-12 weeks of hunters. I thought NL outfitters run 4 weeks... and then stop because of the weather..

I too booked a moose hunt at the show. I spoke to the guy at length, and I liked him. Seemed like a good honest guy. Didn't even ask for 10 cents. Told me I can send the deposit next year.

It was mentioned above. 7mm-08 is an amazing cartridge. I have taken Bear, Elk, no problem. Usually 1 shot.

Recoil is minimal. I have a bad shoulder, sore neck. The 7mm-08 doesn't bother...

We just took all our Elk round steaks, and turned it into a big pot roast. 8 steaks total. 7 hours in the slow cooker, and it was good. Now the meat is just right for eating.

Ate my 1st bear steak. Over cooked it due to paranoia. It was well done. Would have been better at 160F. By the time I took it off, it kept on climbing to 195F.

It's really no different...

I use short track cartridges on all big game. No more .30-06 or magnums. Can't practice with them.
