I wouldn't recommend sleeping in a stand, harness or not. I've actually got down and slept at the base of my tree before. I didn't kill that morning so I can't really say if it's a good plan or not.

Never used a decoy strictly as a confidence decoy, but I guess it could work. Just make sure you take care of the decoy the way you would if you were using it later in the year (ie. scent control).

You can shoot rifled slugs out of a smooth barrell not sure on choke though. Personally, I would look into a cantilever rifled barrel.
