I thought a DA was having to fire the weapon with the hammer forward having to pull it back with the pull of the trigger making it heavier and slower before it struck...

Thinking of getting a semi-auto hand gun and was considerint a Springfield Armory XDM 9. But they only seem to come in DA and I really want/need a SA/DA pistol. So....I'm still considering the XDM 9...
