I have a Browning A-Bolt in 7mm Rem Mag with a broken wood stock.
I recently found a nice take-off stock but it came off of a A-Bolt chambered in 30-06.

Thanks for the info. Yes, I do reload. I primarily reload for my 338-06 and 280 but I have found a factory load that my 280 likes so I don't load for it to much anymore.

Most new rifles are of good quality. It really depends on your budget. Stay away from the budget basement priced guns, IMO you get what you pay for. I prefer Browning, look to Savage for value.

Since the OP says he handloads, the availability of factory ammo is a non-factor. Reloading a 338Fed is easy, even if you have to use brass with a 308 headstamp.

I would support the OP going...
