I use a grunt call i picked up at Gander Mountain cheap,has worked well for me just blow it once usually works have had to hit it twice a couple times.

Sounds like your going in the right direction,the more time you can spend scouting the more you will find,trails are easy to spot they will be worn down from traffic if you have any water nearby...

A o/u 20ga would excel in the field nothing wrong with 12ga if you prefer it but that extra 1-1/2 lbs gets heavier after a few miles can't speak for the sxs never held nor shot one.

Another vote for the 20ga here as already stated practice safe handeling and shooting,get to know your choice well before a live hunt situation and whatever action type you choose you will do better...
