I guess it would work... ive never used one for coyote hunting, but its actually a pretty good idea and i think it would work.

My favorites are Gerbers and Buck knifes. Bass Pro makes some pretty good knifes as well. So do Winchester.

.223 is fine you just have to place a good shot. I'm a little bigger than him and i use a .243. And actually my uncle is in his mid-20s and he still uses a .223.
