Season starts Oct 1. No tags in my area yet either, but I would expect them by the end of the week. The Dnr website says they should be available late August. We shall see.

Cabelas have some gloves that have 150 grams of thinsulate and gortex. They are the warmest glove's ive found. Keep in mind your extremities will get cold no matter what you wear if your loosing body...

Metropolis Is where I stayed (Best Western just off I24) for first season, where I got my 9 pointer. A lot of Superman stuff down there! And I got to say the hunting is pretty good in that area.

I have been told that the farmers leave the corn in the fields longer so it will dry out better. Supposedly they are charged to have to corn dried after it is harvested, so it is to the farmers...

Im glad I read this post, I just remembered that my muzzleloader was still loaded since last Dec. It was cleaned before it was loaded last time, and out in the woods a couple of days without firing....
