The weatherby are good guns, I own one in a 7mm-08 Rem, and it shoots really good too. The vanguard styles are a good fitting gun. For me I'm 5' 11'' and I couldn't ask for a better fitting gun.

The weatherby are good guns, I own one in a 7mm-08 Rem, and it shoots really good too. The vanguard styles are a good fitting gun. For me I 5' 11'' and I couldn't ask for a better fitting gun.

I would perfer a 300 WSM or a 7mm WSM. For long distances they pack a pounch and the animal like a elk will not go far. Or even the 325 WSM which is lowered down from a 338 win mag, would be good...
