I have a remington 760 in 300 savage and love the rifle I would have to agree that the 300 savage is not the 270 or the 06 but it is a cartridge all of its own that has been long over looked!!!

I would say it is a great deal depending on the age of the bow, and as stated above the bow may not feel right to you, so you might want to go out and shoot a few others to see what you are looking...

One more thing to consider at this point in time is the availability of ammo. I haven't seen much 06 on the shelves at wal-mart here recently, or 7mm, but I do see 270 everywhere I go.
