i am sorry but the differance between a gut shot with a 243 and a 300 is the 300 just makes a bigger mess. i personally dont think shooting anything bigger than a .284 is necassary until you get up...

i would just go get a 7mm rem mag they are in my opinion one of the most versitile hunting rounds you can shoot. if you reload you can go anywhere from a 120gr all the way past 200gr. i use mine for...

a gun is going to shoot in the same spot every time you pull the trigger(for the most part) dont wast your money buying a cheap scope you could have a 3000 dollar target rifle and put a cheap scope...

in my opinion the burris fullfield 2 is just as good if not better than the lueopold VX2 and cost a little less. I own a few burris scopes and love them i also own a bushnell 4200 and it is great too.
