I had a .50 Hatfield but traded it for a Franchi O/U, still have the .36 Hatfield. Mine didn't have the brass muzzle cap. Very nice wood. My 50 had a Cherry stock and the 36 has striped maple .

If you have the one piece TC steel base it will work with The Warne or Talley QR rings. If you go bigger then 32mm front glass on your scope you will have to remove the rear sight. I have the TC base...

Mine has ajustable side ears for the front bag that when adjusted properlywill put pressure on the forearm. But I still haven't tested it yet. I plan to use it next week.

I'd go with a .36 cal. One reason is cleaning and swabing between shots . The cleaning or ramrod is smaller on a .32 and would be easier to break.

Dave, I had a problem when using pyrodex when I had the New England. I installed a musket from TC that curedthat problem. The New England was a .54 and very accurate with the maxi.
