RE: 7MM-08 VS 7MM REMINGTON MAG

Exactly. There are a lot of great calibers out there. I love the 30.06 and 308 from my milatary days. They are my favorite. However there are few cartridges that can say "Any game, Any range" and the...

RE: Which would you choose?

Way too general of a question.

I like the 300RUM and 7mm RUM because they are very versatile, flat shooting, hard hitting, have great range, and good for just about everything you can take in...

RE: braking the law

Probably true. I wish this poll had some more options, like:

A.) Yes, knowingly, and I will do it again.
B.) Yes, knowingly, but I try overall to be a law-abiding hunter.
C.) Yes, I have...

RE: 38 special for conceal and carry

I think the Taurus does ok with their little revolvers. I have a J Frame S&W which I hate. It's a fine firearm, but I'm just not that accurate with it. Yes, the barrel is less than 2". Yes, most...

RE: 7 Rem Mag????

I think the 7mm RemMag may be one of the most versatile rounds out there. Yes, it has some kick to it. That said, it will handle just about every type of game in the US without being overkill on...

RE: .308,.270 or 25-06

I voted 308 because I love thatcartridge (military days), but in thinking about it I'd possibly with the 270 depending how often you get out to the 300 yard range. It's flatter shooting out to 300...

RE: AR kits

Sorry Tobe. It didn't work for me either, although I pulled it straight from my Bookmarks, and that link works fine.

Try typing "del-ton.com" with the cursory "www" up front in your browser's...

RE: AR kits

What they said. I'm not a ARF guy as I don't care for the caliber, but even I am about to build one "for fun". I've purchased a striped lower and will begin assembling parts as I find good parts and...

RE: FFL Dealers transfer

I want to make sure I understand your question....

You're wondering if your FFL, who will transfer the firearm to you, will accept a firearm from a non-FFL holder (in or out of state)?

If...

RE: land owner

Is it even a question?

That said, he/she should share with you the ground rules prior to your going out. If you're leasing land from him/her, their rules need to be clearly stated prior to your...

RE: Springfield XD or Ruger SR9???

Reliability is EVERYTHING (more so than accuracy, especially at self-defense engagement ranges) and given those two, I'd go with the XD.

Now break it in properly, then put at least 100 rounds of...

RE: 308 or 300 win mag

I am not unbiased. I love the 308. When I was "in" (Sandbox 1), I carried an old M-14 instead of the -16 because of the range and "punch" advantages. Now that I am out, I have 3 M1a's / M-14's. My...

RE: Best, small handgun for conceal?

Glock 26/27(9mm or 40), Walther PPS (NOT the PPK), or Smith J frame. The .40 has quite a bark/snap in the sub-compacts.

RE: Best valued hand gun?

While I can follow the points both of you make, I believe he was referring to external safety's, which revolvers (and Glocks and many DA/SA pistols) don't have. I'm defining an external safety as...

It's an internet forum. What do you expect?

I think you've gotten some good advice on this thread. I also believe you've seen some "not so good" advice. So, what do you believe? Somebody with a...

RE: Best valued hand gun?

As I stated, I mean no disrespect. And I feel your advice is solid. I have just found on this forum, and other longgun or hunting forums, that just because you know one type of firearm doesn't make...

RE: Copper fouling

Sweets 7.62 is my favorite. You can't go wrong with it. I've heard good things about Barnes. I haven't heard of Montana Xtreme, so I'll do some homework, although I've just never found it necessary...

RE: Best valued hand gun?

Go to a range that has a well stocked rental counter and ask advice. They will be eager provide you with the help you need. That's assuming you are in a firearms friendly state.

And if you like...

RE: Which 1911?

Nope, you're not looking for a 1911.

I have always hated Glocks. Hated them. They have always felt horrible in my hand, and they still do. I think their grip angle is the worst in the industry....

RE: A .270 Sucks????

Wow, my first post here, I'm a total hunting newbie (but an experienced rifleman), and I am about to call someone a dumba$$. That said, that dealer is FoS.

The 270 is an excellent, flat...
