Ok, I have had quail leave a tree sounding like a helicopter bent for hell scare me before, but this was during daylight. 830 to be exact. And nothing else has ever spooked me like this before.

How would they be illegal? I just re-read through the NY hunting book and found nothing that would relate to radio tracking. Yet you'd think everyones DEC would allow this anyway.

If the area is constantly wet, don't use treated 4x4's. They will end up rotting anyway due to continual water contact.
