What about a .243? Do you think it would be ok as a pistol? I know it is plenty big enough to kill deer, but I was just wondering if shooting it as a pistol would hinder its performance.

I know several guys that go bow hunting in MO on public land and they say it is great. They saw a few in the 140's-150's. I would suggest going there the first or second week in November.

I was up there from Oct 20 through the 25 and only saw one good buck chasing. The only one I grunted in was a small six point. I hope that this trip will be a little more exciting.

RE: max range

40 yards would be maxing out for me. I know I can hit a target at 60 yards, but wouldn't feel comfortable taking a shot at more than 40, unless it is a huge buck that is about to get away.

I am hooked on the G5 Montec. They have always been a great shooting broadhead for me and they don't require
replaceable blades. All you do is run them over a stone and they are ready to go. I need...

RE: "Shooter" bucks... what does it mean to you?

I have started trying to let anything under 3.5 walk. Sometimes it is hard to do that when you hunt public land, but if I don't pass him up there is now way he will get older.

RE: Need your feed back

That is awesome. I would love to start something like that here in MS, but I don't have the resources right now. You need to expand down here. I could overlook the MS operation. HA.

RE: Burning

I would burn it. If you burn with a lower relative humidity most of the dead trees and branches will burn up. The small brush and shrubs will die, but will probably remain standing for a while. As...
