KY Turkey hunters

You better check your regs. I would almost guarantee you that hunting dove with a pellet gun is illegal. Especially since Dove are a Federal managed migratory bird.

There is absolutely no need for 3" shells for dove. Talk about overkill and a sore shoulder.
Typical loads are 7 1/2 or #8's in 20 or 12 ga. I can't really speak on a 410 since I haven't used one...

If you want to put your rifled barrel to good use, then shoot sabots. Like bb99 said, shoot a few different kinds to see what your gun likes best. Remington, Winchester, Federal all make good sabots....
