The low drag sabots are thinner than the standard sabots. They are useful if the standard sabot loads 2-hands tight and needing pounding, to get down the barrel on a fouled barrel.

Only reasons not to use the supplied sabots are: 1) tight barrel - have to pound the sabot/bullet down the barrel, or 2) poor accuracy with supplied sabots.

You may want to try using WD-40 for protection, followed by 1 or 2 dry patches. WD-40 is pretty thin to start with.
Best option would be in the future to try degreasing your barrel...

One other possibilty to try is the Hornady 250g SST with the Low Drag sabots. They have about the thinnest sabot available in a bullet / sabot package.
They work great in my tight barreled...

Just a thought about lapping (reworking) your barrel. If you concentrate on primarily lappping the muzzle end you are likely to end up with a barrel that is tightest at the breach end...
