RE: Bob's hog

Dog is doing fine. With the rib cut thru, he will get quite a bit of time on the injured reserve, but there is no longer any concern of him dying from these cuts.

RE: I never would have guessed...

I don't know the law in SC, but if SC is a fence out state, then following Kanga's advice will get you in trouble instead of your neighbor. I would advise contacting the authorities first, then, if...

RE: Pick a 7mm Rem Mag Round for Hogs.

There is a lot of difference between your typical domestic hog and a typical wild hog, just because you can safely and effectively kill the one with a 22 lr does not mean it would be a good idea to...

Bob's hog

I caught a little break in the weather today, so I took 4 dogs out for a little spin. Turned out about 5:30 and had dogs running two separate tracks by 5:35. I followed the three dogs that were on...

RE: 1st Hog Gun ?'s

I'm not familiar with the marlin 308MX, but marlin makes a great lever action. I would give a word of caution if you are planning on using hornady leverevolution ammo. On at least some marlins, the...

RE: I Want a real hog hunt this time!!

Why don't you just hunt the hogs in Colorado. Are you willing to hunt with dogs, or do you insist on a tree stand.

RE: Wild Hog Pics

Well, I got one, his feet didn't look big enough to have been making the tracks that I have been seeing, but the dogs started him from where I have been haveing problems with a hog tearing up my drip...

Well, I have no idea why these pics don't work, if and when I ever figure it out, I'll fix it.

RE: How would you hunt them?

personally, I prefer hunting with dogs. Some of the reasons have to do with the conditions where I hunt. With dogs, I have a one intwo or one in three chance of getting a hog, without dogs I have...

RE: Which would you choose? and why

I would have to go with the hogs. A single buffalo hunt might be more exciting than a single hog hunt, but I am not limited to a single hog hunt, and I do not believe that a single buffalo hunt would...

RE: How To Keep Hog Dogs Off My Place?

I wish I could claim that. The truth is that I am also a landowner, so I see the issue from both sides, and I try to treat other landowners the way I would like to be treated. If all dog/hound...

RE: How To Keep Hog Dogs Off My Place?

I would tend to agree with mez, talk to the other land owner, be reasonable and fair, and let him know you expect the same from him.

Mypersonal policy is similar to mez's. Before I turn out a...

RE: which one(s) would you shoot

I don't think that there is a shooter in that bunch. I'd go looking for a bigger one, let those grow some more.

RE: AR-15 5.56 Nato round for Hogs?

The .223 can get the job done if you use premium quality, dangerous game bullets. If I remember correctly, swift makes a solid copper bullet that will get the penetration you need. However, in my...

RE: CALIBER QUANDRY......HELP!

Bullet placement and bullet construction are much more important than caliber. A properly constructed bullet properly placed from any of the guns you mentioned will put a hog down. On the other side...

RE: Who uses 2 3/4"?

I've had very good results with the 2 3/4 loaded with 4X6 shot, as well as with 5's.

RE: best turkey shot SIZE..out of 3.5 inch shells

I've never used a 3.5 inch shell(I don't have a gun that will shoot them), but I've had very good results from 4X6's in the 2.75 inch shells and 5's in the 3 inch shells.
