Friday brought us 11 fish to hand for 4 of us but most were really colorful fish was catching them...

Nope thats a wild trout. Few reasons i think it has bad colors, one not a male(males tend to have more of the colors then the females), second its an older fish so color has started to fade, third...

No i dont tie my own yet, i do tie my own SJW though since they are soo easy to make.

I would suggest giving the SJW a try i know it works womders for me.

Well if i were you i would still pick some fly up cause you can still nymph with a spin rod. Just but a nail at the end of your line and about a foot up attach a fly and toss it out, i use to do that...

The only places i can use bait for trout is in stocked ponds/lakes so pretty much throw anything at them and they will bite. But i find i will out fish everybody on the lake with this jig and a piece...
