I have a 9 mo old GSP. He's a handful! He only has 2 speeds...fast and dead asleep! He'll point just about anything, retrieves pretty well, and can go all day. He does shed a LOT especially when...

RE: Opinions on Walther P22

My room mate just bought one a couple of weeks ago. It seems to be a fairly acurate pistol for no bigger than it is. We were shooting it rapid fire yesterday at a 5 gallon bucket and both of us hit...

RE: Help me understand "high energy" or "light magnum" loads

Never tried the Hornady ammo, but did use the Federal H.E. stuff in my .270. They worked fine as long as it was cool weather. I shot some at sea level when the temps were in the high 70s low 80s and...

RE: Long range yote rifle?

That's a nice looking rig you have there. I didn't want anything that I'd have to make brass for, and I can get brass for the 6.5/284 from several differant manufacturers. I was wondering about...

RE: Long range yote rifle?

After much reading and researching, I think I want to go with the 6.5mm/284 that's doing so well in the long range competitions. It kind of screws me up though since it's not a foctory cartridge....

RE: Hunting knifes

I've had good luck with Gerber and Kershaw knives. Never had to more than hit them with a steel even after cleaning multiple deer. Lost my last Gerber and 1 Kershaw, broke the tip off the blade on my...

RE: Hate prairie dogs???

I think my room mate and I are going looking for them tomorrow. We saw a bunch at lower elevations today, but they were on prison property and we can't shoot them there. Gonna check out some of the...

RE: Hunting in NC

The deer around the Raliegh area are pretty small bodied. Numbers are there, they just don't get very big. A big buck runs 150-175lbs. Good luck! Hope you like it better there than I did.

RE: Long range yote rifle?

We live in CO and where we hunt, the yotes have gotten smart and stay out past 500yrds. Even with calls they won't come in much closer than that. They get quite a bit of pressure and know the tricks...

Yes, we plan to reload for it. We already reload for the 223s and 22-250s.

RE: Long range yote rifle?

I'm not stuck on the 7mm. This is the perfect excuse to buy/build a new rifle. I'm thinking using a combination dialing and reticle. A good mildot scope with target turrets. Dial the range and use...

RE: Long range yote rifle?

We have 22-250s and 223s that we can use out to 4-500yrds. My hunting partner has a 25-06 and a 7mm that he's playing with on 5-700yrd targets. I've been looking at ballistics charts and have a...

RE: Having trouble with 11-87 firing

I've had problems with an 1100 and a Charles Daly doing the same thing. On the 1100, I screwed up putting it back together and it wouldn't fire. Soon as I took everything apart again, I saw what I'd...

RE: 7mm. Rem Mag VS. .300 Win. Mag.....RECOIL????

I notice the differance between my 300WM and my mom's 7RM. I can only stand to shoot about 15-20 rds from a bench with my 300, I can shoot her 7mm all day. Hers is a stainless stalker and mine is a...

RE: Furthest you've hunted from home? Where was home & What was the hunt?

Raleigh, NC to Gunnison, CO = aprox. 2200 miles
Hunted elk.

Made that round trip 3 times, 4th trip I decided to stay. Now I only have to drive 60 miles to get to our hunting grounds.

RE: Long range yote rifle?

Thanks for all the input guys. We're wanting to stick to factory chamberings on this rig. I've looked at the 6mm Rem. and it looks good on paper, but I can't anybody that's offering it ina factory...

Long range yote rifle?

I'm looking for input on a long range yote rifle. We've got them trained around here so they stay out 500-700 yrds and no amount of calling will bring them in. We're thinking that a 7mm RM with 168gr...
