RE: buying a shotgun

The two you listed are both Super Magnums. The 3.5 at the end denotes 3 1/2 inch shells.

RE: buying a shotgun

My grandfather had an 870 Express Magnum, and my dad had an 870 Wingmaster, and both are older than I am and still functioning. My grandfather's was the only gun he ever carried in the woods, and the...

RE: press set up

I have mine screwed to the top of my dresser at the moment. I'm gonna build a bench specifically for reloading when I have the time, and the money to get the materials.

RE: What should I do? Scope repair question

I had a Simmons 8point on my muzzleloader for 5 years, and I have a Sightron 3-9 on my new muzzleloader, and both work perfectly. Needing a shotgun scope for a shotgun or muzzleloader is BS. The only...

RE: Bolt Action Accuracy

That's exactly it. From the time the hammer drops/striker strikes the primer the only movement of the gunis the gun recoiling. In a semi-auto the bolt cycling is added movement, and unless it moves...

RE: new scoreing system tell me what you think and what level you are

I'd be level 2 for both. I've never killed any large game with a pistol since it's illegal here, and never killed any small game with a bow.

RE: CZ 22 varmint

I just realized I made a mistake in my original post. You need to call Whittakersto see if they have any in stock, and get a price as they are not listed on the website. Brownell's as far as I know...

RE: Affordable .204

That 8 point may surprise you. I had one on my muzzleloader for 3 seasons till I bought a new one (muzzleloader) and got a stainless scope to match it. The 8 point still holds zero, and isaround here...

RE: Your best deal buying a gun...

I doesn't compare to what some of you guys have gotten, but I got an almost new 12 gauge 870 Express with a Hastings slug barrel, and a Leupold 6x compact scope mounted on it, and 4 boxes of slugs...

For Centerfire Remington for big game, and Hornady for Varmints

RE: Gun for 8year old

I killed my first 6 deer (the first when I was 9), nearly every rabbit I ever killed, and a few turkeys with an 870 Express Youth Model 20 gauge. It's light enough I can hold it out with one hand and...

RE: I am looking for a good turkey choke.

I use a Remington Ext. Full extended choke in mine. Make sure you get the one that says Lead and Hevishot on it, and it'll be just fine.

EDIT: Brain fart. I just realized you were looking for...

RE: Turkey Gun ?

I would recommend a 12 gauge only because the more shot the more likely a clean kill. I've never found barrel length to be a big deal. I have an 870 Exp. with a shorter barrel, and a Nova with a...

RE: 22LR or 22MAG

I don't know that it is available yet, but Centurion is making factory 5mm rimfire. I believe it should be available for $20-25 a box of 50. Higher than any other rimfire, but cheaper than going...

RE: CZ 22 varmint

I've never worried about what the trigger looked like personally. I can't see it while I'm shooting so it could be s#!t brown for all I care. My CZ's didn't have the best triggers in the world, but...

RE: CZ 22 varmint

I have an American in 17HMR, and a Trainer in 22LR. Both are very accurate for their price range (you'd have tospend a lot more ona low end Anschutz or Cooper to have a better chance of getting a...

RE: What is your farthest shot (kill) with a 12 gauge

With slugs 30-40 feet. The buck was with 6 does, and I couldn't get a clear shot till they were all that close. Believe me it's not easy to move and aim with 7 sets of eyes looking around that close....

RE: i am sick of this

I'm just curious about something, cause that doesn't sound right. How can you be liable for digging a hole on your property if somebody you don't know, and isn't supposed to be on your property...

RE: squirrels and dogs

The way it reads to me is there are certain zones (north, and south)that are muzzleloading only, and have a different season than the rest of the state. The Jersey site is much harder to navigate...

RE: Sunday Morning Bonus

That's a nice shot. Your crows must not be as skiddish as the ones around here though. If they land in the back yard I can't go out the front door without them flying. I make life hard on them around...

RE: squirrels and dogs

Dogs are the easiest way, cause they will (if trained) jump on and bark at the actual tree the squirrel is up. Second easiest is to find a big hollow tree, and sit within shooting distance of it and...

RE: Shotgun for coyote

They are referring to a range limit for using buckshot. Slugs should be good out to any range you can successfully take a deer. If your gun is zeroed at 125, and you can hit a deer in the vitals and...
