my buddy`s wife has dry fired her bow twice , it knocked the sights out of whack both times, but no other damage , but we did take it to the bow shop to have it checked to be on the safe side.

the lightest one I`ve ever seen is around 24 lbs. you might consider a ladder stand, or sportsman guide has a rail that ataches to the tree, that folds up and down.

I shoot a hoyt ultramag I bought it new 3 years ago, and i love it. I`ve killed 4 deer and 1 turkey with it. And really enjoy shooting it, target or hunting.

two brands you might want to look at are hoyt and oneida. my brother is 6`3 and he always shot an onieda. I shoot a hoyt and just from looking at all models I seen that some have 31 draws.don`t know...
