It looks like you are from NY and since the gun season open tomorrow then I assume you are talking about NY.

There is snow on the ground in Western NY. What do I expect? I expect a lot of deer...

This is too funny New York Hunter. Read the post that I just added to this forum. I had the exact same problem as you with my 11-87 and those slugs. My 11-87 only shoots Lightfields good. That is it....

Please note, I am only talking about my 11-87. Not all 11-87s

This is an 11-87 with a 1 x 4 Leupold Scope

To make a long story short, my 11-87 has always shot Lightfield slugs good at 50...

It all depends on the area that you live in. Basically, how hard they get hit each season. It is funny how things can vary in just a couple miles. Where I am in 8N, there are definately more deer...

I second what farm hunter said. I only want to add that hunters should be careful about shooting deer that are by themselves at this time of year. Fawns are going to get seperated from their moms...

Been seeing yearling bucks chasing does all over the place here in 8N since last weekend. The peak is here I would say. Things may take a break for a few days at some point in time and then pick back...

Yeah I have seen a lot of chasing whne spotlighting as well. But there sure seems to be a lot of yearling bucks in this area. But they are chasing. These next few days should be prime.

I think it is pretty much the peak of the rut right now from what I have seen. I am in 8N and i have seen a lot of bucks chasing does. Seems to be a lot of yearling bucks this year and few mature...

I just went for a ride here in the Finger Lakes Region of NY. There were many bucks out chasing does. Looks like the cold weather flipped the switch.

My family goes to Charlotte, NC for Christmas. I am not going. I would rather go hunting but I am not sure...
