I shoot a Pro Hunter, so I am not sure if you wouldcall me a traditionalist, but I happen to like the experience of using blackpowder, or in my case pyrodex. Yes, it can bework attimes, buthunting...

RE: Shooting 2 3/4 shells from a Mossberg 835

Interestingly enough, my nephew shot his first deer last year with an 835 that had a 28in smooth bore barrel that was overbored. He was using Remington 3in sluggers, and made a clean shot at 60+...

RE: Mossberg 835 question...

Barrels for the 835 are not interchangeable with the 935. If you're hunting deer with a shotgun, you can't go wrong with the fully rifled barrel. Add a decent scope with sabots, you'll have a100+ yard...

Shooting 2 3/4 shells from a Mossberg 835

I've heard people say that you shouldn't shoot 2 3/4 shells from guns that are chambered for shells up to 3 1/2, like the Mossberg 835, because its not safe and it also affects accuracy. I can't...

RE: tekkan 2's suck, any suggestions?

I agree the most important thing is shot placement, however, to me there is a difference between mechanical and fixed blade broadheads. I used to shoot muzzy's, and loved them. I once shot a buck...

RE: slug gun barrel lenght

I believe the 18.5 barrels are for home defense. My brother just purchased a Mossberg shotgun with a 24 inch fully rifled barrel. With a scope, and the right sabot, I think 125 is a possibility, but...
