The taxidermist isn't just "sending it to a tannery" there is alot of work that needs to be done to a smelly coyote before it reaches the tanning process, as was described above....his time is worth...

I will bet they are not bedding in grass on LI... best guess would be that swampy stuff you are describing or heavy pines where they can lay down and watch thier backtrail. Rut will be winding down...

Been hunting LI since Oct 1, fields and woods. haven't encountered 1 tick. The deer are crawling with them though...just make a habit of showering as soon as you get home, and checking yourself...

Why not take the skin back home with you, and have it done locally? Shipping mounts is expensive, and you incur the risk of a mount damaged in shipping.

I hunt L.I.....mostly waterfowl, but a little bowhunting also..I havent been upstate to hunt in years...I am too busy butchering deer and doing taxidermy during rifle season..

actually, that pose was very popular in my shop this season..I have about 20 of that pose to do...but, it is a specialty pose,and not one that everyone likes..you need to hang it higher on the wall....

Everyone in brookhaven can still access town property[boat ramps, etc.] with thier shotguns. There already was a law from 1989 that prohibited this, and it was overturned tuesday night..we had alot...
