RE: 32 or 36 cal.

I have a .32 Traditions also and to me it is a fine rifle for any small game or for getting rid of pests. Not to noisy and a pound of powder goes a long way.

You might want to check into a .50 caliber from Traditions. Price is right and workmanship is very good. I'll take this one when the weather is bad rather than one of my pricey guns. If you put just...

RE: how far out

I'd zero the weapon in at 100 yards if an inline. If a side hammer or flinter with rifling I'd zero at35-50 yards. This way if you are a little high or low you will still be in the vitals. Open...

RE: Oh geeze, not pleased, with Lees

It's interesting to see how the patterning moves across the target as you change loads. I think I would check to see if the barrel is showing any signs of being loose in the groove. GM's are usually...

RE: conicals in slow twist barrels

On that last statement I made, divide the length of your barrel by 60 and it will give you the amount of twist the conical will do as a percent of one revolution.

RE: conicals in slow twist barrels

The 1 in 60 twist doesn't give enough spin on a conical. Most recommendations I've seen go with a 1 in 48 minimum. I'd stay with the round ball. If you hit a deer with a .54 or .58 it's going to be a...

This strange beast has a tendency to show up around Rendezvous fires after the jug has passed a few times. I don't know whether it's just an Indiana phenomena or not since the DNR says "Uh huh"....
