RE: missouri changes

Did any of you guys make it to the meetings or at least comment on the departments web site? I think they had some very well thought out arguments, and seemed to be well received at the meeting I...

RE: latest available knives

Good looking knives, I especially like the Camper. Any more pictures? How well does 5160 hold an edge? How does it sharpen? Any rust problems that would ruin the look (quick rust, not leaving it...

RE: Beretta 390 you know the

I have the regular 390 and a couple of buddies have the Wal-Mart special 390, the only real differences are the synthetic stock and the magazine cut off. They are great guns and will handle pretty...

RE: missouri changes

The proposed regulation changes are listed on their site, along with a video of the presentation they give at the meetings. There is also a place to comment on the proposed changes. They are really...

RE: What would you do?

The biggest problem with just taking it is starting a war and having either your stuff or the land owner's, damaged or stolen. That said, I would take it and leave a note that it can be picked up at...

Dressing deer in the COLD

How do you guys in the really cold places field dress your deer? Most of the time during deer season it is warm enough that I just roll up my sleeves and dig in, but how do you guys that hunt in...

RE: simple ranking

There is a pretty wide range of prices between the three. If money does not come into the question, I would pick the Sako, if it is the biggest factor, I would most likely pick the CZ. I have a Sako...

WTB 7mm STW Brass

I am looking for some 7mm STW brass, hopefully A-Square or Winchester. Would like to have new, but let me know what you have.

RE: Nosler Acubonds Vs STX

I would vote for the Accubonds, but you should try both and see which shoots the best in your rifle. Either one will do the job, so to me it all depends on how well they shoot.

RE: Late rut in Missouri.

I have been hunting the the NW part of the state and the rut has been going strong. I have been watching the small bucks chasing since before rifle season opened, and opening day it looked like the...

RE: Couple Rifle Questions (take a peek)

Either cartridge will fit the bill for anything in North America. It really just depends on what you want. I personally would go with the regular 300 Win mag, I like to shoot heavier bullets out of...

RE: Managed-Recoil

Thanks for the review. I have been thinking of using them in my 30-06 when the time comes for my son to hunt, sounds like they will do the job nicely. Now I just have to find a youth stock so the gun...

RE: Another Treestand theft !!

The farm I hunt on has had 3 ladder stands, a ground blind, and a game camera stolen in the past 2 years, all were at least 1/4 mile from the nearest public road. I won't leave anything there any...

RE: longest shot

Mine was last evening, buck at 384 yards. One shot, took two steps and went down. Sako 75 in 7mm STW, 160 gr Nosler Accubond. Before that one, my average for the last 15+ years has been less than 40...

RE: is this unusual

I would say that it was not that unusual because they are doing a lot of traveling right now looking for hot does. I am hunting 80 acres, and so far the last two days I have seen 7 different bucks,...

RE: Hornady Light Mag

I shoot the same loads in my '06 and have been pleased with them. Not sure that they are worth the extra $, but they are as accurate as any other loads (around 1" groups). Good performance on deer -...

RE: got a question

I have run into this situation before, and we always went with the first fatal shot. It isn't necessarily fair to go with first blood - what happens if the first guy nicks the deer on the lower leg...

RE: ALL NEW cartridge!

I vote for .416, you just never know when a cape buffalo will wonder through the parking lot at Wal-Mart.

RE: which scope is best??

I think your price range is too large to get an accurate answer. You would probably be better off giving a price range you are looking in, and then asking for recommendations for a few scopes in that...

I have been thinking of trying them also, so far it sounds like you have had decent luck with them. The only way to tell if accuracy will change is to go out and shoot some paper and let us know. I...

RE: Yes or No? Carbon Barrel...

I could be wrong, but I always thought that the reason the carbon barreled rifles didn't really catch on was that if you ever got a nick in the barrel, it would eventually come off - either split or...
