RE: New Mexico Oryx

If I would everget a chance, that is #1 on my list of African plains game to hunt. They make a really striking mount with the contrasting black and white face. Congrats on a nice kill. What part of...

RE: 30 TC Cartridge

If it was one of their single-shots, I'd consider it. At least then you can just buy another barrel if the round goes obsolete. I think there are waay too many 30's out there and IMO thisis not going...

I'm getting hooked up with some guys who go in and drag 'em out alive. Went last Tuesday, but I got there late and they had already caught a small one. Then I had to leave and they caught one 160ish...

RE: Got new gun help please

The only thing I thin I'd chime in on is I'd probably limit the 308 to black bear and not try to hunt browns or anything tougher than that. It may do the job, but I'd feel much safer trusting my life...

RE: Just what we need another new 30 caliber.

I think the point here was 308 Win performance without the extra weight of the AR-10

RE: Kimber or Glock

I like Kimber. Glocks are good. Go handle both and see which comes to point of aim most naturally. They're both great guns, but in two different categories. The Kimber is probably going to require...

RE: FS or FT: Savage 99 (Pics Added) SPF!

They are fine rifles. My cousin has one that was given to him in 308 win caliber and it will shoot 1-1/2" groups at 200 yards. The rotary box magazine is similar to the one in a Ruger 10-22 except...

RE: Difference between a Button Buck and a Doe?

The only thing I can say is to make sure that you shoot larger deer. Here in Louisiana if you stick to about a 75# minimum you can usually weed out the fawns. Both buck fawns and doe fawns. As for...

RE: 243, 25-06, 260

I'm not going to jump on the 30 cal discussion. I currently own a 30-30 and a 300 Win. mag. Figured that the 30-30 was my brush gun so if I was going to jump up to a flatter shooting 30 it might as...

RE: Shotgun question....

IMHO that's the gun that needs to be shot the most... there needs to be the utmost familiarity with the defense gun. When the SHTF you really need to be able to function with that gun no matter what.
