RE: Just a reminder

I use 3f in my shotgun, I just get better penetration and better patterns with smaller amounts of 3f instead of bigger loads of 2f. I will start out with 65gr. to 1oz of shot and work up to turkey...

RE: Just a reminder

How does Graf and sons compare to Goex? I bought some 3f Graf recently but the loads that I have worked up were with Goex. I havent had a chance to light any off yet. Any experience with it?

RE: So, does anybody use plain ole' Crisco as a lube anymore?

Cayugad, that .570 is just a plain old Lyman. I gave my neighbor 65 bucks for it and the handles. I have been getting pretty good results out of it if I do my part and have it warmed up and...

RE: So, does anybody use plain ole' Crisco as a lube anymore?

You know, speaking of that 12 gauge, Cayugad gave me a link for a .690 minie once. If you happen to read this Cayugad, where was that from?
I've got my own pouring rig now and my wife might of got...

RE: So, does anybody use plain ole' Crisco as a lube anymore?

I love to hear those forties crack. They really sound wicked. Wouldn't of wanted to be a red coat marching in line with one of those pointed at my head 70 yards away.

RE: So, does anybody use plain ole' Crisco as a lube anymore?

I cast my own .58 round ball and sometimes minnies. My zouave really doesnt like minnies though and the reason I went to a .58 was for round ball knock down power. I bet that .54 of yours points like...

RE: So, does anybody use plain ole' Crisco as a lube anymore?

I use plain crisco and beeswax quite a bit. I can tailor the stiffness for what I'm shooting. If it is intended for my revolver as a flashover preventer I make a stiff batch. For my various rifles I...

I seem to get much better results teminally with 3f. The squirrels in the above picture fell to 1 ounce of #6 and about 70 grains of goex. I have taken a jake turkey with it as well. I used 90 gr....

RE: Range Report: Flintlock smoothbore Dove / Crow load

RE: Small Caliber Smokepole?

Cayuqad has a point about .40s. If you are after coyotes or something requiring long shots, a little more medicine than a .32 might be required. Mine at least, doesn't like lots of powder and won't...

RE: 12 gauge. round ball loads

That big ol flat nosed 525 slug would be serious medicine. My twelve gauge can't weigh 6 pounds. I might have to pick up my teeth after lighting off one of those puppies.
