RE: How do you guys stay awake on the stand

What a novel idea!!! I used to whittle when I was a kid and really enjoyed it. I believe I will have to pick it back up again to pass the hours in the stand.

RE: WB or Poor Glue Job ...

With Blazers on a clean shaft, too much glue will cause failure also. One small bead down the center of the vane is all you need. Too much will cause them to fall off also.

RE: fletching painted or dipped arrows

You can thin down fletchlac and shoot it. The problems with paint coming off with the vanes is using a lacquer over an enamel, or vice-versa. The paints will also wrinkle if not compatible.

RE: Turning the nock???

Depends on how you shoot, odd up, out or down, you want the heaviest side of the shaft down.

RE: Turning the nock???

If you ever hear of "floating" an arrow, this is what they mean. Float your shafts in water and the heavy side will be down. Mark them all on the top side and index your nocks with your mark;)

RE: Custom arrow cresting

Once the lacquer paint cures, it is a really hard shell. When a vane comes off or you just want to refletch, it can be scraped off without damaging the crest.
