I bought my second hawkeye yesterday. The bbls are free floated (called Ruger to check) The first shot very good, too cold to try this one. They sure feel lively in your hand.

Try a Win. 88 or a Sako Finnwolf or a Browning blr. They work great in most any situation, especially if you handload.

A Savage 99 or a Winchester 88 or 100 ( all .308)Also looked at a Ruger Hawkeye in .358 win. Most of my hunting will be in Mo. with an occasional trip to Canada for black bear.

Due to various ailments I can't climb anymore. Where I hunt is thick and brushy and it's hard to find sign as the ground is very rocky large tracts of public land (Mo.)and No crops. Any suggestions ?
