Why cant I cast bullets for 50 cal Kentucky w wheel weights? Most cast bullets for smokeless rifles recommend harder than pure lead and use Wheel wts.

how is it possible to overload sidelocks? barrel is 1/2 in thick! I reload for rifles and shotguns and steel much thinner. not sure about the differences in metalurgy and steel hardness etc but ya...

how long can I leave a 50 cal kentucky (loaded) without it rusting? I heard that plugging end of barrel and keeping moisture out prevents rust. Rifle has patched ball.
