Had a similar experience last year with a shoulder hit. Looked all night and most of the next morning until we saw the deer running across a road. He had a limp, but survived!

One thing I did this year to keep my feet warm was to wear the Artic Shield Boot Covers. My feet always get cold, and these really seem to work. They allow you to wear more comfortable shoes as well....
