Rifle/pistol rest on a tree stand?

Last year I was faced with a tough shot from my stand. Being leaned all the way to my right, I found that without a rest, I was not steady enough to take a clean shot with my shotgun.

What can I...

RE: To stop a deer in its tracks

Well, my only hope was to hear opinions from other hunters about the shots they like to take on deer. I wondered what brings them down on the broadside shots I have seen. I have seen them run after...

To stop a deer in its tracks

Without resorting to a head or neck shot, where do you aim to drop a deer in its tracks?

I am directing this more towards shotgun hunters. So far, every whitetail deer I have shot has run after...

Illinois Handgun Hunting with Reloads

"Is it legal?"

That's what I'm trying to figure out. The regulations state that we need manufacturer specs showing at least 500ft-lbs.

I think I may have taken this the wrong way and...

RE: 12GA From Hell

Maybe it's because most of us are sitting back and reading the wonderful things Ed has posted, rather than adding useless comments like your own.

I cannot thank the guy enough for introducing me...

RE: Magnum Research Lone Eagle pistol?

Another person just pointed out the Competitor line as well to me, and I'll have to say that I never realized they existed. But now that I know they do, it seems like it makes the most sense to go...

Magnum Research Lone Eagle pistol?

Has anyone in here ever shot a Magnum Research Lone Eagle pistol in large caliber with the muzzle brake? Can you tell me about recoil and accuracy?

I'm interested in possibly finding one for...

RE: Burris scopes????

Another scope I have heard excellent reviews about for the price (about $300) is the Millet TRS-1, which often goes overlooked by many.

4-16x50 with a 30mm main tube and lit reticle. I don't own...

RE: Bolt-action 12ga shotguns

Yeah I think the Savage 210 is probably my best bet now that I look around at some others for the money. I'm using the action to do a "12ga from hell" like Ed and others are doing using the full...

RE: Bolt-action 12ga shotguns

I just didn't know if there were...

Whoops, I just realized that I posted about a shotgun incident in the archery forum. Sorry about that, didn't realize the forum when I saw the topic.
