Default BSA Scopes for 17 HMR & WSM

Has anybody tried any of these scopes? The reviews seem kind of mixed.

I only had one BSA scope and to put it mildly it was a POS. I put it right up there (or should I say down there) with NC Star optics.

Thanks. Some of the reviews have useful information and a lot don't. I liked their reticle but I can make other scopes' reticles work.

Cal - I could probably get by putting on on a 17 HMR. But not sure how they would hold up to the recoil of a WSM. Now maybe I got a bad one I don't know. In fact I just sent a brand new Leupold back to the factory because it was "floating". All the while I thought it was the rifle then I switched scopes and presto, good groups.

Since I'm in CA, I'm stuck with the non-lead ammo. In 17 WSM, Winchester makes a 15 grain non lead bullet that is supposed to have a MV of 3300 FPS. It's a screamer but I would guess a little less jarring on a scope than their 20 or 25 grain rounds. I liked BSA's reticle a lot but am now considering either a Leupold or Vortex to avoid problems.

When I bought my Savage it came with a BSA Sweet 17 fixed4X.It held zero and worked well for years till it went blurry and fuzzy.I would never had believed that a .17HMR could damage a scope.

"Run Forest, Run!"
What is your budget for a scope, and what kind of shooting/hunting will you be doing with it?

Up to $300 on a scope. For the quality, I've been looking at Leupold and Vortex. The idea of a scope with a reticle specifically for 17 WSM was intriguing. Not a deal breaker but still intriguing. When I looked at the reviews, they were mixed so I posted here to get some real world feedback.

I have this scope on a 22lr G-2 single-shot pistol and it works great. Have shot it out to 300 yards with it.

The SWFA SuperSniper scopes are real good for the money as well.
2.5-10 power https://www.swfa.com/swfa-ss-2-5-10x...fle-scope.html
Great 6x fixed scope with a MOA reticle right at your budget: https://www.swfa.com/swfa-ss-6x42-ta....html?___SID=U
10x with the same reticle ( I have two of these myself on centerfire guns [223 Rem, 308 Win]) https://www.swfa.com/swfa-ss-10x42-t....html?___SID=U
