What did Leupold do?
 

Went to look for a VX2 and I see Leupold changed up their whole lineup....

Why do they gotta try to confuse me?

Hope it is marketing strategy to expand the line and attract more customers. The trend now seems to be to offer a bunch of different reticles.

Hope it isn't the marketers and bean counters that hatched a plan to play the consumer. Relabel, make cheaper. more profit.

jake, i just sent my VX1 back to Leupold for repair. the power ring is hard to turn. emailed them and was told to send it in. just waiting for it to come back so i can get it back on the rifle and sight it in.

Posted in another thread I thought Leupold was going to discontinue that line. Read a couple weeks ago that that line is no longer in their catalog. It's consolidation. Appears the VX-1 and 2 have been replaced by the Freedom line.

That's what it appears.

I wonder if quality is similar, less, more?

the quality better be as good or better then the VX1. i paid about $200 for my 4x12x40 scope. might have been a little more if i recall. hope it gets back soon. jake, have you heard from tom schaffer lately? havent heard from him for a while and hope nothing happened.

jake, just got an email from leupold that my scope is being shipped back to me. dont know if they repaired or replaced it. dont know much about the new freedom line of scopes. have to wait and see.

How do you think it has changed?

Midway has VX2s on sale for $210.

Most of my scopes are VX2 with one VX3I

I think you'll be happy with the Freedom if you get a chance to try one out. From what Leupold has said, they took the glass out of the VX-3 (pre- VX-3i) and are using it in the Freedoms. This is supposed to be a big improvement over the VX-1 and a slight improvement of the VX-2. To me, it makes sense that they would consolidate options at the lower end, as they have really been focusing on the higher end scopes. I'm absolutely in love with the Mark 5 and the VX-6HD, but I'll have to save for a while before pulling the trigger on one of those scopes.

jake & mr. slim i'm doing fine just been doing alot of motorcycle road trips . will be getting ready for hunting season in a couple of weeks.there are only two seasons in my life biker& hunting season

Look on Ebay they still have a few new vx2 scopes .
