rear sight adjustment screws

Hi ever one, quick question, to move the rear sight on a pistol to the right I have been told to turn the windage screw clockwise and to raise the point of aim to turn the elevation screw clockwise, is this correct? or does it vary from manufactures?
Thx in advance for any information.

I believe that is the standard way to move them in those directions for most manufacturers.

Move the rear sight in the direction you want the bullets to go.

USUALLY the adjustment screws, when on the side of a sight, are on the right hand side (as viewed from the rear of the firearm), so if you want to pull the point of impact to the right, you need to "tighten" the screw, turning it clockwise. If it's on the opposite side, left side, then the reverse is true.
