20ga. slug gun
What scope would you folks recommened on a 20 ga. H&R heavy barrel gun.
|
3X-9X Zeiss Conquest.
Ready, set, go......................! |
I have an Ithaca 20ga which is lightweight, so the scope takes a beating, especially with 3" slugs. I use a Redfield Revolution 2-7x33 with the Accu Range reticle. Plenty of eye relief, great glass, durable & dependable, & made by Leupold.

Depends on your budget, to a large degree.

Murdy makes a great point. My advice is to buy the best scope that you can afford. Something like a rather compact 1.5-6x40 or or 2-7x40 or 3-9 x 40 should work great. I am big fan of the Conquest line as far as value.

But, that beast is going to be heavy. I'd put a lightweight fixed power on it either 3 or 4X).

I can only speak from my own experience - and it isn't an expensive one.
We have many H&R USHs in the family. Their performance is awesome. They are all topped with Simmons Pro-Diamond scopes. They are all 4X power scopes except one of them that has a 2X power. My 12 gauge laminated camo USH is the oldest of the bunch, I bought it when the USHs first came out and the original scope is still just fine. |

I love the Leupold VX-2, 3-9x40, I have this on all my slug guns: Savage 220f, H&R, Remington 1187 (20 &12ga.)
